Helen Keller
Helen Keller was born in 1880 in Alabama to the parents, Arthur and Kate. Helen was born deaf, blind, and mute. Although deaf, blind, and mute somehow she could sense the presence of the people around her. The sense of smell, touch, and taste were extremely important to Helen because of the fact that she was deaf, blind, and mute. Although she never spoke clearly she did however sort of overcome being mute, but she never spoke clearly. But shortly before that her parents basically just gave up on her altogether. Helen went to the Perkins Institute for the Blind when she was growing up. There she learned how to read brail, and after that she read rapidly. She also learned how to write there. She would try to write the letters down as she read the brail, and after she did that the teacher would tell her how to put the letters closer together so they looked like words...
