Math History Project
Math has been around a very long time. When the Arabs conquered Syria, Egypt, and Palestine, they inherited a lot of the Greco-Roman mathematical heritage. The Arabs did a great job preserving it too. Due to the Turkish and Mongol invaders the Arab civilization was declined. The Arabs' enthusiasm for math was around long enough to be passed on to Christian Spain, then to Italy, from there to the rest of Europe.
