Tales of Tails

My fiance and I live in a really nice, old house — built in ~1928 — on Staten Island. Since we moved in 18 months ago, there have been some occurrances that I consider very odd. I am quite a skeptic myself, so these ocurrances have to be substantial for me to even consider them to be real. Here is a list of the things that have been going on / happened: 1. I awoke in the middle of the night after hearing a woman's voice say "Hello. Is anyone home?" It sounded like it was coming from the first floor, so I got up and walked to the top of the stairs to look down. As I was looking at the front door, I heard the sound of the door opening, but the door wasn't moving. Needless to say, this freaked me out intensly. Nothing happened after that, so I went back to bed and *tried* to go back to sleep. 2. A few weeks ago, I cleaned off my computer desk in the basement in an effort to tidy up. Everything that was on it was placed in a drawer or otherwise put away. The next day, I went to the basement to feed my fish when I noticed something sitting on the desk.
