Good afternoon, faculty, staff, friends and family. Thank you for the opportunity to address you at this important event. It is truly an honor for me to be here today. I would like to share a gift with you today. A poem that in a sense embodies what we all could be. Gift Rapt by Mattie JT Stepanek Share the gift of courage, And it may lead to for forgiveness. Share the gift of forgiveness, And it may lead to hope. Share the gift of hope, And it may lead to peace. This year, and every day, Let us share the gifts of the heart, Which grow from a belief in Something greater than us- That which was before us, That which is with us, That which will be beyond us. Let us think gently. Speak gently, Live gently… And the world may be Blessed gently With the greatest gift of all… Faith. These are gifts that all have been given. Now, however, we are graduates moving on to our careers or maybe more education. That being the case, we have a responsibility to make the world a better place.
