Introduction
Few people enjoy dealing with conflict. In fact, most of us try to avoid it. But ignoring conflict won't make it go away. A far more effective approach is to manage conflict so that your organization benefits from an exchange of information and ideas. Management should know how to avoid bitter arguments, lowered morale, withering productivity and the suffering of the customers when negative conflicts arise, and how to channel conflict toward positive results.
Conflict Management Style
According to the book "Organizational Behavior" by John R Schermerhorn, Jr., James G Hurt and Richard N Osborn (2002), five main types of conflict management styles are described below:
-Smoothing or Accommodation
-Collaboration & Problem Solving
-Compromise
-Avoidance
-Competition & Authoritative Command
