Why has teen drinking in our society become such a popular and cool thing to do for our kids. ... When a teen develops a drinking problem there problems just multiply and they may try to hide or ignore them. Drinking alcohol has become a social tradition in the lives of young Americans. Although the legal drinking age in the United States is twenty-one, most teens begin using alcohol during their teenage years. ... Recent statistics show that teenage drinking is decreasing, but the numbers are still way higher then what everyone wants. There are many reasons why kids start drinking but it all leads to the fact that America’s teenagers are dying from it. ... Another cause of teenage drinking is the desire to rebel. Since underage drinking is illegal, it is considered “cool” for young people to defy authority and do what they want.
