The three pastoral epistles that continue to instruct the church today. I have learned a lot more than just five things from these books in the new testament. One of the major things I have learned from these pastoral epistles, is what it takes to become and elder of the church. There are many requirements that would seem difficult to overcome. This mainly comes from 1 Timothy 3, one can not love money, respectable, and hospitable. These seem like the hardest three to obey to become an elder. When your growing up and in life, money is almost everything. It is all around, you need it to get through life and there is a huge illusion that if you have a lot of it your life will be much easier. In this day in age, it would be tough not to love money.
