Inside the Vineyard Over the course of my life, I have been introduced into many sanctions of religion. However, the diversity of these churches has followed the same line of all the rest. What I mean by that is, basically all churches that I have every attended are considered “Church of Christ.” The Church of Christ is, ( or should I say, was) the congregation that shaped my life from the day I was born. To be honest, it never really hit me on how diverse and complex some religious practices are, until I was much older. One of my most recent interactions with a congregation was actually at the beginning of the semester. See, this is my first semester as SIU, and of course, I moved away from home to attend here. When my friends and I fist moved into Brooke side (our apartment) we didn’t know anybody or what to really expect. That changed over time and we became good friends with everyone around us, well most everybody. Anyhow, one of these people I met is named Becca. Becca and I hit it off quite quick as that we both play guitar. This broke the ice to other topics such as religion. She went on to tell me of this church she was attending down the road, called the Vineyard community church. She then began to talk about the basic foundations of “worship” that transpired within. To say the least, I was quite interested. So, the following week I decided to tag along with Becca over to the Vineyard.
