"O Canada, we stand on guard for thee". But the question is, who stands on guard? The appropriately termed, "Canadian" usually fills this role. Now that we know who takes this position, we must find out the qualities of a Canadian. Most Canadians are thought of as hunters, lumberjacks, beer drinkers, and most prominently, people who say "eh". The defense that a Canadian responds to this with, says that they are not any of these. In spite of all this, the definitions in this essay of what a Canadian is, do not refer to what it is not.
Defining a Canadian should not be described with an indirect approach, like so many have done. It is my contention to describe what a Canadian is, rather than trying to overcome and dismay stereotypes. For me, describing a Canadian is actually like being at a restaurant, because there is so many options...
