The struggle between India and Pakistan is one of the most tension filled situations in the world. This struggle didn't happen over night, not by any means, it has been an on going story dating back to when south Asia was ruled by the Mughal Empire in the 1500's. During the time of the Mughal Empire the majority of the people were Hindu. Later Islam was introduced to the region. Many people converted from Hinduism to Islam because of the unfair cast system in Hinduism. This obviously created some tension because there were so many people of two different religions in such close proximity. In the 1700's the Mughal Empire weakened and gave way to large states. Some of these states were Hindu, Muslim, and a few Sikh. At the same time these states formed British interest in the region in creased greatly. Soon the British were supporting some states in their wars against other states...
