My job title sounded important. I believe my job title was a major factor in getting our first house. My job title was self-explanatory. People automatically knew what field I was in based on my title. Through out the years, I have worked for the same company. I have landed multiple jobs to try to move up in the company. Even if I took a lateral movement, (same pay, same job level) I still felt that I was not only learning a different aspect of the company, but it also showed the company that I was willing to adapt to change.
After 9/11 and a product that was a marketing disaster, I had to adapt to change that was beyond my control. I was fortunate to land the position that I am in now. At the time, my job title was Site Technician, since I have been in this department, we have gone through 4 re-orgs and my job title has changed 3 times...
