In this book, Developing The Leader Within You by John Maxwell, I have learned so many new things about becoming a more effective leader for God. This book deals with the subjects of Influence, Priorities, Integrity, Creating Positive Change, Problem Solving, Attitude, People, Vision, Self Discipline, and Staff Development.
Influence
Chapter one of this book is entitled The Definition Of Leadership: Influence. In this chapter I learned that leadership is influence. When you are a leader you have the ability to obtain followers, when you have people following you it is only because of the influence you have on them, weather it be good or bad. Another important point about influence is that everyone influences someone. Parents influence children, teachers influence students, employers influence employees and the list goes on. One very important thing you should always remember is that you never know who or how much you influence. More than half of the people you influence, you don't even know.
