AhIGHLY addictive Arguement The war on drugs is a never-ending battle, but what if the prophecy was true? What if the war could be over tomorrow, what if the global struggle could end? Millions of tax dollars have gone to finance an end to the traffic and sale of all illegal narcotics. Billions more have gone toward the budget for drug awareness, but I have determined the solution to the drug problem and it will cost nothing. Law enforcement agencies have risked officers’ lives, in hope that one-day drugs are off the streets. The answer to the problem can be summarized in one work, legalization. It is so simple it is a wonder on one has thought of it before. Examined from all angles legalization of all narcotics is the miracle cure. It is the light at the end of the tunnel that America has prayed for. Imagine walking into a convenience store and the man standing in line asks the clerk for a lottery ticket and a gram of heroin. Think it is insane ? Well, “drug dealers earn thousands of dollars a day simply because they are the only source of the drug.” (www.DEA.gov) If every corner store sold drugs the countless violent criminals would be out of business. Hollywood has glamorized narcotics with productions such as, “Blow, 25th Hour Train Spotting” (www.hightimes.com) and numerous other films, but imagine that drugs of all sorts were legalized.
