The movie of Vivian Beaning was very beneficial to understanding cancer better. It is one thing to read about cancer in the textbook, but to actually see someone going through the fourth stage of cancer really helped me to better understand the things that I have been studying.
Vivian Beaning, when she first was omitted into the hospital, was diagnosed as being in the fourth stage of cancer. The fourth stage is the worse stage that a person can be in; there is no cure for the fourth stage. The name of the cancer that Vivian had was Metastasis Ovarian cancer. Usually when a cancer is first visible, it is the size of a pea. When a cancer is that small, the odds of finding a cure for that cancer is very high. When Vivian Beaning went to the hospital, her tumor was the size of a grapefruit and in the fourth stage. The doctors told her that the most effective type of treatment would be to go on Chemotherapy for eight months. She decided to go through with it, and the side effects of this drug were terrible...
