Why are babies having babies? Many people wonder why teenage pregnancy can be; they can't believe that it is even an issue. The truth is, the United States has the highest rates of teenage pregnancy and births in the western industrialized world. (Bode 1-11) We ask ourselves as a nation, How could we have let this become a problem? There are many issues that can be affiliated with teenage pregnancy. The latest generation of teenagers are faced with many decisions. "If we continue to ignore young people's sexuality and hope that it will go away, or we simply say that abstinence programs are the solution, then we will be doing a great disservice to our younger generation." (Orr Vol.30)
