Training Day
The movie Training Day takes place in the mean streets of Los Angelous, California. The star of the movie Denzel Washington stars as Alonzo Harris, a corrupt undercover narc, who owes the Russian mob tons of money.
The types of corruption used throughout the movie are nonfeasance (failure to perform a legal duty), misfeasance (failure to perform a legal duty in a proper manner), and also malfeasance ( commission of an illegal act). In the movie, Harris performs nonfeasance acts by allowing teenagers to go free after catching them buying illegal drugs, failing to arrest the two junkies after catching them molesting a teen girl; instead he beat them up, also letting the guy in the wheelchair go free after he ran from police and was found with drugs on him. He also commits misfeasance acts by having a fake warrant in which he used to go into a house and steal money from the lady, also by shoving a pen in the suspects throat to make him throw the drugs up and also forcing the suspect to rat out where he go the drugs from. The last type of corruption used is malfeasance he allowed the teens to sell drugs, and let them get the money so the corrupt cops can get the bust, made his trainee smoke dust, Harris was drinking and driving, he killed, had a shootout in the middle of the neighborhood, and also trying to kill his partner and trying to have him killed.
The corruption is involving individual officers, around five members, which I think falls into the deviant police subculture hypothesis. Those members placed loyalty to one another above obedience to the law. Most of the corruption used was for the MONEY.
The star character faced harsh consequences...
