The name of the story I am going to write about is The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant. The story is mostly about how a boy that is just a freshmen in high school and the girl Sheila Mant is a senior, well the boy (Narrator) likes Sheila Mant, and basically she's not interested in him for anything else but a way to get out of the house and go to the big concert where the guy she likes will drive her home. The Story gets interesting when The narrator has Sheila Mant in the boat that he uses for transportation to the concert, well he brings his fishing pole and puts it out in the river just for the heck of it cause he figures he wont catch anything but all of the sudden a huge bass grabs onto his line and is caught but since he knows Sheila Mant doesn't like fishing he is afraid to grab onto the line and try to reel the fish in, and towards the end of the boat ride he has to cut his line and let the fish go so he wont get caught and be embarrassed that he likes to fish. The narrator knew that the fish he has caught must have been the biggest bass he ever hocked but he could do nothing about it. When they arrive at the party Sheila Mant dances with the narrator a couple times then she decides she will go off with the boy she likes with the new car and just leaves him hanging. He had shinned his boat up and let the biggest fish he had ever hocked go all for nothing because Sheila Mant just used the narrator to get to the party. He felt sad inside, but not long after that towards the end of the summer the spell Sheila Mant had placed on the narrator had left him and he no longer had the desire to be with Sheila Mant, but for the rest of his life he would never forget the night when the bass the river and Sheila Mant all happened at once
