Walt Disney was quoted on many topics of entertainment, his life, and his career. "I hope we never lose sight of one thing it was all started by a mouse." Disney was not only an entertainment pioneer; he also laid the foundation for entrepreneurs trying to start their own businesses. Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald's fast food chain, is no exception to Disney's influence. Ever since the creation of Disney Land, fast food chains, including McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken, have attempted to model their restaurants after the theme park. However, while Disney Land has contributed to happiness for all, fast food has been mostly harmful to American society. Although the fast food industry is vastly different from the theme park industry, the fast food corporations have vastly affected the overall well-being of the American Public through the revolution of fast food, focus of advertising, and the obesity epidemic.
Granted, fast food has seemed to exist in our society forever, but there were major steps taken to revolutionize fast food chains. The inventions and advancements of automobiles, computers, telephones, and televisions, are perhaps one of America's greatest achievements.
