... Yes, Art, craig, and scott had teamed up to form the amazing musical talent known as Everclear. Today I will discuss the history of the band, problems the band faced as they were trying to make it to the top, and finally a little bit about the band you might currently know today. [walk] Everclear was formed in a way that most classic rock bands are formed these days. One day in 1992 Art decided to put an ad in a local newspaper wanting to put together a band; this is how he met the other 2 members of the trio, craig and scott. ... That is until scott was voted out of the band over an argument involving the use of drugs. Greg Eklund took scott’s spot as drummer, a local who was actively interested in joining the band. Their first practice together as Everclear happened to be four days after the birth of Arts daughter, Anna. On a side note, they chose the name Everclear after the toxic grain alcohol with the same name. The alcohol content of everclear is approximately 190 proof, or 95% pure alcohol. ... This album contained the popular song Santa Monica, which helped push Everclear into the alternative music spotlight. Now that you know how these guys came together, I’ll talk a little bit about some of the problems the band faced on their rise to fame.
