Aristotle wrote of love to show that love engulfs those who are lucky enough to find it. "Love is composed of a single sole inhabiting two bodies." In Meeting at Night by Robert Browning and Never Have I Fallen by Rex A. Williams, both authors take different views about love and employ a variety of literary devices in their poems. Browning's poem conveys the magnetism of love. Never Have I Fallen discusses falling in love at first sight. Meeting at Night incorporates symbols, personification, and imagery, while Never Have I Fallen uses rhyme, alliteration, and hyperbole. In both poems the authors use the literary devices of diction, figurative language, and tone.
