Abandonment: to give up by leaving. That is exactly what Frankenstein did to his creation. He was too disgusted to even put up with the creature so he decided to leave. When you show your offspring, in Frankenstein's case the creature, the opposite of love, that is what they learn from their parents and so they are going to demonstrate the same. When Victor Frankenstein ran out the room in disgust from his creation, the monster showed Frankenstein the same courtesy by seeking revenge. Frankenstein's abandonment on the creature produced the creature to have malice ambitions.
Victor Frankenstein did not only abandon the Monster but also everyone else who sees him. The Monster sought warmth in the cottagers from observing their relationships and personalities but as soon as he showed his face to them, they just tried to destroy him.
