The Importance of Carolina Beach Music to Carolina Shag Music
Beach Music can be defined as rhythm, blues, soul and disco music. This music type is popular among baby boomer residents of the South. Residents of the Carolinas who want to dance, party and re-live their happy adolescent years at the beach, seem to be especially fond of beach music. Beach music has been around for some 50 years and is played on countless radio stations in the Carolinas and thorough out the south; it draws thousands to the beach every year. The Carolina Shag dance is closely associated to the beach music heard throughout the south and is popular among crowds of all ages.
