Van Gough was born in 1853. He lived an uneventful life until he was 16 when he moved to Hague to begin an apprentice to Goupli's and Co., and after working there for 4 years, in 1873 he was transferred to London. It was around this time when Van Gough became more interested in religion. He also fell in love with his land lady's daughter a mistake he would later regret as she rejected him and became engaged to someone else. This act destroyed Van Gough.
After working in London for 2 years, he was transferred to Paris, however realised art was not what he wanted to do, and started to study the bible instead. Not surprising, since his father was a priest. He then moved back to London and began preaching. Then in 1877, he moved back to Holland...
