1. Introduction
Since the late 1950s the computer was being invented and the use was only for changing information within university. However, in the beginning of the 1980s the use of the computers not only for academic purposes but people used it for business purposes. The purpose of this report is to examine the role of computer systems in business society, which is known as Management Information Systems (MIS), Transaction Processing Systems (TPS) and Decision Support Systems (DSS).
2. Different Kinds of Systems
There are four main types of information systems serve different organizational levels such as operational-level systems, knowledge-level systems, management-level systems and strategic-level systems.
2.1. Operational-level systems
Support operational managers by keeping track of the elementary activities and transactions of the organization, such as sales, receipts, cash deposits, payroll, credit decisions, and the flow of materials in the factory.
