The Ideal Parent
Once a person finds out that they will have a new addition to their family, the feelings are very motivated and the new parents have a rush of excitement. On a personal experience note, I am going through this very situation. My wife and I have known that we will be having a newborn baby since mid June and I have never been so excited.
The ideal parent to raise a non-violent child should consist of many different criteria. First, a parent should teach a child the rightful ways of respect. When talking about respect, a parent should teach a child the basic "Please and Thank You" and teach a child also when to say "Ma'am and Sir". A parent teaching a child respect must also focus on teaching a child to respect, not only others, but itself also. In order to teach a child to respect itself one must dish out compliments toward the child and should never put down a child to make it feel unwanted or ashamed. A community educator on violence recently said, "We need to teach children the good outcomes of every given situation."
