1. Ken's cross-complaint would be acceptable because after reaching majority, Barbie ratified the loan and deed of trust and agreed to be bound by it. She made an agreement and created a contract with Ken when she was 18. The deed of trust would be valid and if Barbie doesn't repay the loan, Ken would be bound to get ownership to the real property.
2. No she would not win because nobody forced her to sign the documents without her reading it first. It was her responsibility to read the documents, and since she signed it, it was a valid contract. Even though they encouraged her to sign it by telling that it was Jack's wish, she should have read it first. Jack's brothers acted unethically, but they did not misrepresent Jill of what the documents said. Jill's negligence caused her to lose everything that was willed to her by Jack...
