"Revolution of 1800"
"[Tecumseh is] one of those uncommon geniuses which spring up occasionally to produce revolutions." This quote was stated by Governor Harrison who both admired and feared Tecumseh, a great Indian leader. At this time, Thomas Jefferson was on his way to becoming the next president, and was worrying of an organized Indian opposition. But during the fall of 1813, Jefferson learned he would no longer have to worry about Tecumseh because he died during the Battle of the Thames defending Canada against an army led by none other than General William Henry Harrison. Jefferson had nothing to fear.
The "revolution of 1800" started to come about with the election of Thomas Jefferson for presidency. John Adams and Charles Cotesworth Pickney both participated in a careful manipulation of the electoral college votes. This was made public, so election was moved to the Federalist-dominated House of Representatives for decision.
