Starving people is usually the first thing that comes to mind when people think of Ethiopia; I know that's true for me. Ethiopia is a one of many countries found in Africa. It lies in the Horn of Africa, and is surrounded by the countries of Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti, and Eritrea. Ethiopia is about 437,600 square miles and about three times the size of California. This region has a lot of mountains, more so than the other regions in Africa. Ras Dashan Peak in the Simien Mountains is the highest point in the country at 15,158 feet. The landscape is rocky which makes transportation and communication difficult, but is good to keep enemies out. Valleys, deserts, and grasslands also occupy the country.
