Personal Competencies. To Whom It May Concern, I have been in the workforce for the last 4 years, operating as an independent, responsible adult. In that time I have constantly learnt from my life experiences and developed skills in both learning and life management. I am a very motivated person with goal setting, time management and prioritising skills that help me achieve what I aim to do. My current goal is to attend university and attain a degree in either science or the arts. I am applying to university to continue the development of my critical learning skills and to broaden my knowledge base. I feel I am now ready to complete a degree, and understand what is required to function successfully in a tertiary environment. Setting goals and prioritising tasks is something I have learned in the past four years. On leaving school I aimed to leave the small rural town I was bought up in and move to the city to find gainful and rewarding employment. I managed to achieve this through being persistent and applying problem solving strategies. My first position was as a manager in a Physiotherapy Practice ( see attached reference) I was in charge of running the practice, answering all phones, conversing with patients, making bookings, massaging patients before they had treatment, stocking rooms, banking, ordering and cleaning. This position presented me with a steep learning curve acquiring many new skills. To succeed in this position required discipline, a clear understanding of instructions, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
