Ford Ranger
For over two decades the Ford Ranger has been around. The Ranger name started as a trim package on the full size F-Series trucks. Ford had been importing the Courier since about 1972 as a compact pickup. The Courier was produced by Mazda and at the time Ford owned a 25% stake in Mazda. In 1982 Ford began producing the Ranger as a replacement for the Courier. The Courier is still produced today as an overseas version of the Ranger (History of the Ford Ranger Pg. 1). Launched for 1983, Ranger has became the best-selling compact pickup in America (1990-92 Review, 1). The current Ranger design is now eleven years old, ancient by Motown Standards. Now only minor appearance alterations top a short list of 2004 changes to America's best-selling compact pickup (2004 Review 1)...
