100 YEARS OF FIFA
Since its foundation in Paris, on 21 May 1904, FIFA has developed from the original seven to 204 member associations, making it one of the biggest and with over 250 million active members certainly the most popular sports federation in the world.
FIFA will be commemorating its centennial with a variety of events and projects to pay tribute to the universality of the "beautiful game" and to honour people and places of historic importance to football, including a re-run of the 1998 FIFA World Cup Final between France and Brazil at the Stade de France, a World Player Gala and a special centennial tribute to the British FA for their invaluable contribution to the development of modern football.
