Calorimetry in a Nutshell
Abstract:
The object of this lab was to calculate how many Calories were in a peanut. To complete this objective, a peanut's initial mass was taken. The initial temperature of 200 ml of water was also taken. Then the peanut was lighted by a match and it was left burning under the water until it went out by itself. Then the final mass of the peanut and the final temperature of the water were taken. Then the results were used to calculate the amount of Calories in the peanut. The results of two different trials were 4.44 Cal/g and 4.31 Cal/g.
