THE CONFLICT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN JACK AND GREG Life is filled with conflicts in almost all relationships, especially between teenagers and their parents. The reason for the conflicts can be either one person or both of them. Disagreements often happen because people feel strongly and care deeply about their opinions. The short story “Brother Dear” shows clearly an example of two people who are both responsible for contributing the conflict. In other terms, Jack and Greg are both involved in creating conflicts in their relationship because neither of them is willing to listen to the other. Jack is a formal father who wants his son Greg to attend the university and have higher education. When Jack was younger, he wanted to go to the university and became a doctor, but as his father wanted him to take care of his John Deere dealership, he couldn’t achieve his wish of becoming a doctor.
