Susan Brownell Anthony, also known as Susan B. Anthony, was a pioneer of women's rights. Her father was a Quaker Abolitionist. He sent her to a school with her brothers, while most girls were unable to be educated. Susan's father was active in the reform movements of that day, which were the antislavery movements. Susan was determined to follow after his example. When her father held meetings, she talked with many of his guests who convinced her to be involved and active in reforms.
Susan first became involved in the world of reform with the temperance movement. This was for women and children who suffered from alcoholic husbands and fathers. Susan was also involved with her father in the antislavery movements and attended conferences around the United States, giving speeches to others...
