The declaration of Independence original rough draft was written by Thomas Jefferson and was later revised, and finalized by July 4th 1776 with many changes. This statement of independence is composed of three parts. The first part expresses the ideas that everybody has heard at least once in their life. These ideas are the equality of men and men's rights: life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. This part also explains that governments are needed to secure these rights, but that if a government is doing his job badly it is the right of the to change it. According to this part of the Declaration the present king of Britain, George III, was not a good king for the colonies. The second part of the Declaration of Independence states all the facts showing why George III was a bad king. These grievances were mostly economic or political ones. All these facts demonstrate why the colonies had to secede from England. The last part declares properly the independence of the colonies and names them the United States of America...
