The Industrial Revolution was the mechanization of the European economy that began in England in late 1700's and migrated to the rest of Europe by the early 19th century. Factories were able to produce a greater number of products for the costumer that were lower in price and high in quality due to new inventions that allowed mass production with in the factories.
The Industrial Revolution affected many lives in many ways. The population in Europe skyrocketed, and people migrated from the countryside to the cities. This migration caused many problems within the city. Many people were left with inadequate resources, fewer places to live and no food. Slums began to grow within the city, bringing indescribably filth and diseases to the population. The crime rate increased, for it was the only way for some people to make a living and feed themselves and their families. Problems also arose in the countryside.
