General Patton was a very ruthless and temperamental Commander, and these qualities made him one of the best commanders the United States military ever had. General George Smith Patton Jr. was born in San Gabriel, California on November 11, 1885. George wasn't a good student by any means, although he was an all-round bright child. George was especially bad at mathematics; this would later decrease the chances of getting accepted into his hopeful college West Point. His father was in the United States Army, and was constantly being stationed in different places around the country. Patton was very good at strategies, which was the main reason for him being such a great commander of the Tank fleet in WWII. Patton's ultimate goal was to be accepted into the West Point Military School. He wanted to get the best military based education possible. There were no openings at West Point when Patton applied so he was put on a one-year waiting list...
