The Tobacco Industry
The tobacco industry is extremely prosperous throughout the whole country and even the world. The tobacco is very prosperous in parts of Asia also. Asia's most prominent cigarette is SALEM. It is the most popular in the eastern part of the world.
The cigarette companies use methods of advertisement such as TV commercials, billboards, and radio jingles to present the product to the rest of the world. An example of the types of advertisement cigarette companies use to do this is the Marlboro Man. The Marlboro Man was an image of a cowboy and also gave the image that cigarettes are cool to smoke. Another advertisement that presented the message that cigarettes were cool was the Joe Camel ad. This advertisement was an aim to get younger people to smoke. The theory on getting younger people to smoke was that all of their customers were getting older, and once those costumers die off, who is there to become the consumer?..
