Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore and Say Hi or Die by Josh Freed are both documentaries that are linked with violence in today society. These two pieces have are very similar in their approaches. In the two pieces there are effective use of humor, irony and satire.
Humor is very effective in the two pieces. In Bowling for Columbine humor is expressed very well. "At the bank the tellers are giving away free guns." Where as in Say Hi or Die "it is no problem to have a gun as long as you have a valid driver's license."Also in Bowling for Columbine, " you need a gun to be an American citizen to protect your family." In Say Hi or Die you can't walk on the streets at night. "Restaurants and bars usually provide someone to take the risk of parking your car...
