1. Introduction
In this report I intend to illustrate what principles of the project planning and control of operation management involve in the whole process of London Eye project. I have done some researches and selected a few individual observations based on the operation management. I hope to demonstrate them via concepts of planning and control in this specific model, especially focuses on its typology of project, project environment and project definition because these three aspects are the premise of executing project planning and control.
Principles of the planning and control live in any project whatever its scale or length. In operation management, all operations obey this process model: INPUTTRANSFOMATIONOUTPUT. Although the project planning and control is only a part of planning and control which exists in the TRANSFORMATION section, in micro field it is also can be transferred as the same model as below: supply of products and services (INPUT) project planning and control (TRANSFORMATION)Demand for products and services(OUTPUT). London Eye is not exceptive either. Mace Ltd, a famous international consultancy company which was contracted by British Airway (BA) played the role of project planning and control.
