There are four stages of the distribution levers. Each of the distribution levers has a differential effect on establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
1. Awareness
Distribution levers facilitate awareness primarily through strategies that increase the number of access points for consumers and any strategy making it more likely that consumers will be directed to or find a way to contact the firm is likely to enhance awareness.
2. Expansion
There is the focus is on increasing the value of the channel to customers and the channel creates more value for customers increase consumer interest and exploration.
3. Commitment
Customers are more likely to commit to firms that provide exceptional value, making it easy and attractive to establish a relationship.
