In the Novel The Bronze Bow, Daniel demonstrates himself as a dynamic character when he fights in Rosh's growing army, when he fights in his own band of men outside Rosh's army, and when he constantly cares for Leah, by basing his decisions on her benefit.
Firstly, Daniel is dynamic when he fights in Rosh's growing army. He joined because Rosh provided food and shelter for him when he had nowhere to go after escaping the life of slavery. Also, Daniel hated the Romans for being responsible for his parents' death. Since Rosh was in the progress of building an army of Zealots, and preparing them to take over the Romans, Daniel became a Zealot. Always obeying Rosh, Daniel was prepared at all times to act in violence. Daniel showed an angry temper when he went to Joel's house, on behalf of Rosh, to ask him to join the army of Zealots. Joel's father, Rabbi Hezron, who wanted the Jew's freedom from the Roman's as well as Rosh did, was patient with, and kind to the Romans because he believed that is what it takes to accomplish something. Daniel, being furious at Rabbi Hezron's approach to the problem lost his temper through dinner with him. Rabbi Hezron explained that the law must be followed, no matter what, and then he said to Daniel, "I wish Joel to understand this, and I must forbid him to see any old friends who will turn his mind to violence...
