Just as the literature was an intricate part of our learning, so were the films we viewed. We watched many films throughout the course of both semesters, each dealing with a wide range of topics. My favorite film was Grand Canyon. It was an uplifting and positive film that in the end left me in a state of contemplation. No other movie that we watched this semester made me think as much as Grand Canyon. I loved the theme of chance and the idea that things in life happen for a reason. After the movie I found myself thinking of people in my life and how they affected me. In retrospect, I also realize how in some ways the class itself was based on chance. Maybe I was supposed to be in this class and meet some of the people I did.
