The cause and effect of the Third Crusades
The crusades were one of the longest battles fought, yet were they ever really
successful? The Third Crusades' main goal was not accomplished, but had victories
nonetheless those were the stepping-stones of the Christian empire that was ready to
arrive. The cause of the Third Crusade, starting at 1187 A.D., and gradually fought until 1192
A.D was the ultimate failure of the Second crusade. Pope Gregory had ordered a new crusade to help capture Jerusalem. The Second crusades started when Saladin wins the Battle of Hattin, and takes most of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem on July 4, 1187. Muslims began to overpower the crusader states in 1144 A.D...
