Analysis of Ford Motor Company
The Ford Motor Company participates in two main business sectors:
automotive and financial services.
The automotive segment includes the designing, manufacturing, assembling, and sale
of a variety of brand name cars, trucks, and sport-utility vehicles (SUVs). These brand
names include Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Jaguar, Mazda, Volvo, Land Rover, and
Aston Martin.Consumers highly value the Ford name and equate it with high quality,
long lasting products.
In addition to its automotive practice, the company also participates in the financial
services industry thanks to its Ford Motor Credit Company and The Hertz
Corporation. Owning the distinction of the world's largest auto financing company,
Ford offers credit services, and insurances in over three hundred locations around the
world. The Hertz name is synonymous with rental, renting cars and trucks along with
industrial and construction equipment.
Competition:
The automotive market is highly competitive. The principal methods of competition
include product quality, advertising, promotion and price.
