When I started writing this essay, all I thought about was the topic sentence, something that would clarify and describe the main focus of this essay, Israel. There may be a million quotes on the land, but there is one word that is probably the most precise way to explain it: Home. Home is where the feeling of belonging, comfort, security and happiness dwells. It is full of trust, love, compassion, friendship, loyalty, hope, dreams and motivation. I went to Israel hoping to find all the things that I have listed above… I found more. My parents, my sister and two brothers who had accompanied me there, were all astounded by the wonderful country. Just like a Mothers warm embrace I felt welcome in the overall land and cities of Israel. In the city of Jerusalem, which is also known to many as the Holy City, there stands the tall, wide, sacred Western Wall. It is made out of Jerusalem stone and filled with a countless amount of notes full of wishes and dreams in between the cracks. There are many people praying and crying as well as beggars by the “Kotel” day and night. There is a feeling of immediate holiness that has significant value in the air. If I would have to describe Jerusalem in one color it would ideed be brown, not that it is dull and boring, however that is the main color used in the city.
