... During the time that JRR Tolkien published his works Christianity was on everyone’s mind and you see this because a major hate group, Christian Identity, was formed and this shows you people also questioned religion at that time.
In one of Tolkiens most widely read series, The Lord of The Rings, you get to see just how much of Tolkiens book was affected by Christianity, and the general doings of the culture from the time he published his books- approximately 1925 when the book A middle English vocabulary was published to 1955 when the Return of The king was published.
Before getting to any major underlining Christianity themes in his work, I will share the cultures affect on his writing.
It is evident Tolkien felt the people were loosing touch of core values throughout his book. ... ” This shows you Tolkien felt that the cultures old values and traditions were diminishing and the only way children could know of these things was to hear them, but not feel the emotion souronding them.
