It is well known that politeness is one of the symbols of civilization. It also plays a great role in intercommunication. What is more, politeness is in close relationship with language. It is safe to say that language is the significant way to convey politeness and in return, politeness greatly influences the using of language. Nowadays since more and more attentions are paid to the intercommunication of language, English teaching not only aims to develop students knowledge of linguistics of languagegrammar, pronunciation, vocabulary etc. but also aims to develop students capacities of using language. In order to meet such demand, the teachers have to pay attention to the application of politeness to the fundamental English teaching.
