The book I have read is called " The Railway Children " by E. Nesbit. This book is a Puffin Classics book set in the countryside in Yorkshire. The main characters are Roberta who is the eldest and most responsible one, next came Peter who wants to be an engineer when he grows up and the youngest one called Phylis who meant very well. Also their mum who tries to help them with all their problems on their journey they go on. The story was round about the time of the victorians.
The story begins when two impotant men come to the childrens house to talk to their dad. It was shocking news as he had been acused of being a spy and he was sent to prison. When the children ask whats wrong their mother tells them that he has been called away on buisness but he hasn't. They now move away to the countryside for a while so they catch the next train...
