The Tour de France
The Tour de France, internationally known, as the yearly bike race held across France. Lasting a vigorous three weeks and covering about three thousand miles divided into twenty stages, professional bike racers from all over the world come to challenge themselves among their companions. According to the Official Tour de France website.
In the Belgian city of Liege, the Tour de France "begins." The first three days are spent biking six kilometer prologue time trials in the streets. After this another "prologue" in the capitol city of France rears its ugly head. Racing hard against the clock the bikers route winds through the capitol starting at the Eiffel Tower and lacing around other famous boulevards and monuments, while thousands of fans stand by the edges of the route cheering on their favorites to win the race. The winner of this prologue gets to wear the much coveted "yellow jersey". The winner proudly wears this as even though winning the prologue isn't like winning the real race it's pretty close.
Among the cyclists different colored jerseys are ostentatiously worn, for even if they aren't the yellow jersey the other kinds are highly respected...
